Hi, I’m Rachel Tice.
I think of myself as a different kind of counselor, in a good way. I think this because I’ve had many clients say it. I like to bring my personality into sessions which makes my clients feel more comfortable. I don’t want therapy to be sterile. I am always thinking of how I would want my sessions if I was the client.
I studied psychology and counseling because I’m good at it. I have worked with every age group and in many therapy settings. Throughout those years, my goal was to open my own private practice, which is where we are today.
Here is where you’ll learn some things about me: Besides all things psychology, I love cooking. I love trying food from all cultures. Mostly, I love eating. I love traveling and have been to many countries. I spent four months backpacking through South America (without a cell phone). I love animals so if you have a furry friend, please introduce us during session. I also really enjoy writing and am in the process of writing my first therapy book.
I have multiple chronic health issues, including an autoimmune disorder and genetic disorders. I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. My health issues lead me onto a spiritual path which is another passion of mine. Hence New Moon Counseling.
I am committed to social and political activism, addressing systemic issues that impact mental health. I also engage in environmental activism, recognizing that a healthy planet is vital. My approach combines these values, fostering a holistic perspective on therapy that includes both individual and collective care.
